Have you always dreamed of a husky tour? Gliding through the snow with a wooden sled pulled by a team of dogs? Across vast white plains with views of mountains and frozen lakes? There are countless places in Scandinavia where you can do this nowadays. Lapland is a popular destination, and even in the Alps, you can increasingly find places to go on a sled dog tour.
But did you know that you can also undertake a multi-day husky expedition? Including an overnight stay in an authentic Norwegian cabin, without electricity and running water? And that is less than four hours from Oslo? This was one of our bucket list items that I was able to scratch off last winter.
In Beitostølen, I went on a two-day husky expedition. In the morning, you depart, and the next evening you return. Along the way, you cover more than 50 kilometers with your own team of huskies, where you not only glide through the snowy landscapes but also have to take care of them. Feeding, cuddling, braking when necessary, and helping on steep uphill sections – it’s all part of the experience.
Do you want to experience this too? Beito Husky Tours offers various options:
✔️ Multi-day treks from 2 to 6 days
✔️ Short husky tours in the morning, afternoon, or evening
Who knows, you might even be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights during your adventure!
