From the coast we go inland

From Trosa we follow the coastline down south to the suspension bridges in Stendörren Naturreservat. We say goodbye to the sea and ride inland towards the most epic sunset boondocking spot ever seen.

Trosa, Sweden

Cute Swedish coastal town Trosa

Sometimes the unexpected places are the most surprising. When searching for a place to park our van, we stumbled on Trosa during or Google Maps search. This cute little Swedish town is located near the coast 1,5h south of Stockholm. We spent the night on a good camping, but it was the city center of Trosa that surprised us the most. The old library and the canal made it look straight out of a fairytale.

Stendörren, Sweden

Island hopping hike on the Swedish coast

Are you like us a big fan of suspension bridges during your hikes? At the Stendörren Naturreservat you hike from island to island connected by 4 bridges. There are plenty of hikes in the park, so it’s your choice which to follow. The road towards the parking lot is a typical Swedish dirt road, but it was perfectly manageable, even with our van.

Most epic sunset boondocking spot ever

While crossing the Swedish backcountry on our way towards the great lakes, we stumbled upon this beautiful boondocking spot in Kisa. Next to the Nedre Fölingen lake, on the eastern shore, there is a dirt road with 4 beautiful lakeside spots to spend the night. They all face to the west, so you will have a magical view on the sun setting over the lake. While we were enjoying our dinner, we had the most epic sunset ever! This boondocking spot is quite known and popular. Make sure you arrive early to score one of the 4 spots along this road. Each spot is
