France
La douce Provence!
One of my favorite days of this trip: discovering more beautiful nature, sipping wines and living like a god in the sunny Provence region. Prepare for a wonderful luxury hotel, too!

Another waterfall: Cascades du Sautadet
Not so famous, yet very nice to go and check out: Les Cascades du Sautadet. The Cèze river formed her way through chalk rocks over the years, leaving this spot with beautiful rock formations. Come in the morning to avoid too many tourists (although it's still quite okay here).

Wine, wine & wine at Chateauneuf-du-Pape
While driving through France, a stop at one of the most famous wine regions can't miss in your schedule. Chateauneuf-du-Pape is famous for its red wine and you can taste that in one (or more ;-) ) of the many wineries around. We chose for "Domaine Mousset" and bought a bottle that we'll open in no less than 10 years. Exciting! Unfortunately many of the wineries here choose to do their tastings inside, as it's so hot in the summer months. So enjoy the view mostly when driving towards the "Domaine" of your choice (you'll look out on the Mont Ventoux from here!). Once inside, focus on the tasting!
From the winery, go to the cute center of Chateauneuf-du-Pape

Explore and lunch at Chateauneuf-du-Pape
Chateauneuf-du-Pape is next to a great wine region, also a super cute little French village! So take some time to walk around in the cosy streets. At a certain point, you can go uphill towards a church, where you have a spectacular view over the region. We took it all in, and afterwards went to "Le Verger des Papes" for a drink and standard lunch. With-a-view!
Time for something fancy now! Drive to the beautiful Provence, direction "Château Fonscolombe".

Check-in at Château Fonscolombe
The first fancy hotel on the trip: Château Fonscolombe. After three centuries of history, the castle is now open for tourists who love traditional luxury. The restoration of the Château has carefully preserved the heritage in order to keep the spirit and elegance of this place intact. Feeling like a true GOD IN FRANCE here!

Diner at l'Orangerie
Tonight, we stay in the hotel and enjoy a fancy and delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant, l'Orangerie. The food here combines simplicity and flavors with seasonal vegetables from the garden and the best regional suppliers. All while looking at the perfectly maintained gardens of the castle. Can be worse, right?!
