France
Dreamy day in the South of France
Heading further South, visiting a typical French lavender field and two not so famous, yet very picturesque and romantic villages. Ending with a dinner with a view!

Dreamy lavender fields
Can't do a summer roadtrip through France without a visit to the typical lavender fields, right? You can find some beautiful fields south of the Ardèche, so it's immediately on your route to the next stop. I'm talking about Saint-Rémèze, where a stop at "Maison de la Lavande" is a must. Their lavender fields are blooming with mountains in the backdrop: beautiful! Walk a bit around here and drink a local beer on their cosy terrace.

Check-in at La Vieille Fontaine
Your next stop is a super pretty, yet (still) unknown little village in the "Gard" region. The village has a few hotels, my favorite being "La Vieille Fontaine". Perfect for our first hotel night after camping for some days! The owners will happily welcome you. Don't expect too much luxury, yet it's perfect as a base for a night to discover the enchanting area. What makes them special (but you'll discover that in the last activity of this day) is their view on endless green fields and vineyards.

Walk around and lunch in Cornillon
After you are installed in the hotel, go out and walk around in Cornillon. On the main square of the little village, you can find a simple yet perfectly fine restaurant to have a small bite for lunch. Afterwards, get lost in the streets. Super authentic and on several spots, you have an amazing view on the area.

Walk around in Goudargues
Take your car to the neighbouring village, Goudargues. With the river "Sèze" flowing through the centre, it has everything you can expect from a typical Southern France village. Take a short break at the "Gelato Bar" for artisanal ice cream (even though the sign doesn't look really artisanal ;-) )

Dinner with a view: La Vieille Fontaine
Probably the best part of the hotel "La Vieille Fontaine": the restaurant and its terrace. So even if you're not staying here, book a table at their restaurant and thank me later ;-). While sipping from your French wine and eating local goods, you can watch the sun set on the vineyars.
