Avignon, chilling and fancy dinner
Visiting Avignon today, including the best lunch spot in town! Ending the day with a fancy dinner.

Visit Avignon
A city that really surprised me on this trip: Avignon! I think the city has it all: history, nature, monuments, gastronomy. Pieter and I always like to discover a city by parking somewhere in the center and after that, just walk around without a plan. Here are some pictures for you to get a feeling of the city.
Time for the best lunch spot of the whole city!

Lunch at Le Carré du Palais
Right on the main square of Avignon overlooking the historic palace, you can find Le Carré du Palais. A modern lunch bar with a beautiful terrace, serving delicious dishes. No better spot to enjoy your lunch!
Heading back to the hotel

Chill at Château Fonscolombe
We decided to go for a chill afternoon at Château Fonscolombe, working on our tan and reading a bit by the pool.
Quite a long trip ahead for dinner, but it'll be worth it.

Dinner at Villa La Coste
It's hard to choose one of the luxury hotels in the Provence. But you can choose 1 and go out to dinner in the other ones! That's what we did at Villa La Coste. This winery and luxury hotel has a stunning dinner area, overlooking the sunset and vineyards. They did a great job at the architecture of this place, if you ask me. The food ended up to be "okay", not great. But the setting made up for that. Prepare for a long trip though, as it's more than an hour away from Chateau Fonscolombe.
