Enjoy your morning at Lake Gwynant
We stayed the night at Yha Snowdon Bryn Gwynant, a nice hostel near Llyn Gwynant - a beautiful lake surrounded by orange hills in the early spring. Breakfast is included in this hostel but no supermarkets are in the neighbourhood.
Day-filling hike to Dolwyddelan
You'll start the day with a steep climb when you go east in direction of Dolwyddelan. This offers a magnificent view over the surrounding hills, and you will soon forget the climb when you walk through a plateau of sorts with high grasses and no one to be seen. After a few kilometers, you will really have to search for your way out of this plateau since there is no path and no indications. Use your map and compass. We went through a forest that was recently cut down and got to a small road. Eventually, we passed Dolwyddelan Castle and a road with some beautiful blossoms, before reaching a main road. This is also where we found a supermarket for some necessary groceries: beans, wraps, chocolate energy bars and apple cider. We stayed the night in an amazing airbnb with alpaca's next door.
