A wonderful route of 119 km in 4 stages + 1 resting day. It passes through the heart of Snowdonia (Eryi in Welsh) with stunning views over the mountains. Good navigational skills and compass are required for this trek. We opted for a backpacking trip with accomodation in youth hostels and B&Bs, but you can also camp out.
Essentials:
- Backpack, rain gear, good hiking shoes
- Trail description (we bought the Cicerone Guide 'The Snowdonia Way' and followed the valley route - not the mountain route))
- Map and compass (we bought the OS Explorer OL 17 Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa)
- Sleeping bag
- Optional if camping: tent, sleeping pad, gas, cooking equipment
