The waterfall of 380 m high origins the Krimmler Ache valley, and after some big drops and turns - it ends next to the village Krimml. The hike up - next to the waterfall itself- is about 5 kilometers long and has a elevation gain of 500 meters. It is, however, very touristy so the path is broad and easy to access with a good pair of (hiking) shoes. You'll have to pay entrance (€8) or show your guestcard if you stay in the region for a free entrance. On the way, enjoy the beautiful views and rainbows that the waterfall produces. When you reach the top, continue on to the Krimmler Ache for a peaceful and quiet hike along the river. Here, you will encounter 3 alms where you can stop to drink a Radler and have some Jausen!
You can take the same way back, or take another route on the right side of the falls.
In short:
Lenght: 10 km
Elevation gain: 600 m
Total time: 5 hours
