When it comes to cherry blossoms, most people think of Japan. But did you know that in the Netherlands, you can also find beautiful cherry blossoms in various places? For example, in the Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest) but also in Almere-Buiten. The advantage of Almere-Buiten compared to the Amsterdamse Bos is that it is much less crowded, so taking photos here is more easier! The cherry blossom trees can be found on Terracottastraat and Siennastraat. The photos below were taken on Terracottastraat. The advantage of this street is that it has charmingly colored houses along the street, which adds a nice effect to the photos.
The blooming period of cherry blossoms is relatively short. Depending on the weather, this is usually from mid-March to early April. The photos below were taken on April 3rd 2023. This year the blooming period might start earlier because of the mild winter, so plan your visit on time!
