De laatste stop van onze roadtrip: Tavira
Voor onze laatste stop hebben we besloten om in Tavira te blijven, waar zowel de stad als de natuur te ontdekken zijn. Bovendien is het slechts 30 minuten rijden van de luchthaven van Faro.
Starting Our Day with a Hike in Benafim
To end our stay at Quinta do Freixo we had to complete the hike we had actually scheduled for the day before. After breakfast we made our way to the starting point and decided to do a 5 kilometer hike through the fields and mountains. There's multiple hikes offered, some less far, some further than the one we chose. It was an amazing experience but at the same time it was also pretty challenging since the temperatures were already extremely warm. The end of the hike takes you back to Quinta do Freixo where we could immediately jump in the pool for some refreshment.
Checking-in at OZADI Tavira Hotel
The drive from Benafim to Tavira took us about an hour. Upon arrival we were able to check-in immediately and were offered a welcome drink. The service was great! We, as usual, made our way over to the pool and took some time to relax.
Discovering Tavira City
After our moment to relax we got ready and made our way to the city center of Tavira. Another city which offers World Heritage sightseeing! Gorgeous architecture, a beautiful bridge, local souvenir shops and cute restaurants by the river. Tavira is sometimes also called the 'Venice of the Algarve' and is also the most Eastern point of the Algarve.
