Deeply hidden in the forests of Walloon Brabant, in the green valley of the Thyle, lies a piece of Belgian heritage nearly 900 years old. I'm talking about the Abbey of Villers. Or at least what's left of it. We visited the impressive ruins and fully immersed ourselves in the Order of Cistercians. The monks may have been gone for a few centuries, but you still get a beautiful insight into the monastic life of yesteryear.
