Saturday morning market in Olhão

Hustle & bustle, fish & fruit and vegetables: that is the Saturday morning market of Olhão. The two striking red Mercados are open daily, but on Saturday morning, a few other local vendors gather around the Mercados. What's on our cooking menu for the evening? 1kg of clams, 1 lemon, a few cloves of garlic, and a bunch of flat parsley. Delicious!

B&B Alma do Campo in the heart of Algarve

The balance between privacy and hospitality of the highest level. Alma do Campo consists of four apartments or better said 'little houses'. The finishing, the details, the coziness,... everything is perfect here. And the beds... pure madness! Jac & Loraine are the hosts of hosts. Loraine, the woman who after one morning at breakfast knows what you like and how many coffees you drink. Jac, the man who surprises you every day with smoothies and croque Jac's. These people do this with love and this translates into the smallest detail. The ideal mixture between the privacy of a lovely own place and the coziness of Jac & Loraine and the other guests at breakfast. But who is Alma then? Book, go and discover it for yourself!

Beaches or sandbanks?

The region has many sandbanks where you can find vast stretches of beaches. Again, the rule that is mentioned several times in this entire Algarve series: move 100 meters to the left or right and you are almost alone. We needed a stop for a short siesta and some cooling off and turned right on the way back from the wine tasting towards Praia do Ancão. Again, a lovely beach!
