Thailand has its own version of the Seychelles, known as the Similan Islands. Imagine the bluest waters and the whitest beaches: a true paradise! We booked an early bird trip from Khao Lak via GetYourGuide, and it was a memorable experience.
First stop of the day is the breathtaking Donald Duck Bay, which boasts pristine beaches and a unique rock formation, including a boulder resembling Donald Duck’s head. So cool to see! We climbed Sail Rock to get an almost 360 degree view of the area, absolutely stunning.
After that, it is time for snorkeling at Honeymoon Bay which is famous for being an excellent diving site. The coral is very beautiful here! After Honeymoon Bay it is time to visit our favorite spot of the day: Princess Bay. The stars of the show for us were undoubtedly the beautiful turtles we saw here! When we jumped off the boat, we were greeted immediately by two turtles. When we wandered off a little, we encountered one more that was swimming all by itself. So cool to follow that little guy around without another person in sight (and without disturbing it, of course).
Then, it’s time for a picnic lunch, some swimming and relaxation on the main island of Similan. After lunch, it’s time to do one more snorkeling session before heading back to the pier. The last snorkeling session is perfect to spot some Nemos (clownfish), and Nemo’s friend Dory. Really fun to see that Finding Nemo was based on real life. ;-)
