Many travelers start or end their Sri Lanka trip in Negombo due to its close proximity to the airport. One of the highlights in Negombo is the local fish market, where all the locals buy their fresh catch. Despite the strong smell, visiting this market is quite an experience in itself. We took a tuk-tuk to the market, and our driver made a stop at the harbor afterward to show us the colorful fishing boats. The activity doesn’t take long, but if you find yourself in Negombo, it's definitely worth a visit to get a glimpse of local life.
