En route to Sveti Stefan passing Ostrog Monastery
Say goodbye to the Durmitor mountains and drive to Sveti Stefan, passing the Ostrog Monastery, built in the rocks.

A visit to the Ostrog Monastery
The Ostrog Monastery is described in almost any Montenegro travel guide. It must be said that the building itself and its location is impressive, although it has some negative sides to it. First of all, the road to the monastery is narrow and dangerous. On busy days, the small path is filled with cars that have only a couple of centimeters between them and the abyss. You must be a confident and good driver to get there. Second, it's still a long way up from the parking lot. Expect at least 25 minutes of climbing stairs. You'll see a lot of other people doing it barefoot! Third, the monastery is a crowded and touristy place, but it's also filled with religious Montenegrans hoping to visit the sacred place. It is going to be busy and the line for the monastery will be long. All by all, is it worthwile? Probably not.

Enjoy sunset on the beaches of Sveti Stefan
Want to enjoy a wonderful sunset on a calm, pebbly beach near Sveti Stefan? Go to Crvena Glavija. This nice little beach is not yet stuffed with tourists and offers a great view on the island of Sveti Stefan. You can order beers at the bar/restaurant, equally called Crvena Glavija. They have great pastas and risottos around €20.
