Today you will visit the Island's famous Timanfaya National Park. Start early in the morning so you are one of the first to arrive at the national park. You will be given a parking spot and than you will que for a bus that will give you a tour throughout the spectacular volcanic landscape. We know... it sounds quiet touristy and quite frankly it is. But still it is something you need to see when visiting Lanzarote. TIP: let other people enter the bus so you are the first to catch the next one. This way you can take the front row which will make the views so much better! In the afternoon you leave the national park to climb the famous Caldera Blanca. It is an ancient volcano on which you can hike all the way to the top and have amazing views over its crater, the national park and the coastline.

Hike to the top of a volcano

Just outside the Timanfaya National Park you will find the Caldera Blanca. This ancient volcano is one of the most popular hikes of the island. From the parking lot it is a 8 km hike in total. You will walk a quite uncomfortable path through the "lava sea", a rocky black lava landscape. When you reach the volcano, you walk all the way to the back from where you start climbing this mountain towards the top. It's a moderate to hard hike but with amazing views over the crater and the surrounding.
