Spent unforgettable days and nights at Mama Yeya’s glamping spot in San Cipriano, a hidden gem in the jungle. Just getting there was part of the adventure! We arrived via brujita's, a creative form of transport where motorbikes ride on abandoned train rails. The journey on the brujita set the tone for the whole trip: San Cipriano felt like stepping into another world.
Once you reach San Cipriano, a short walk takes you to Mama Yeya Raices. When you arrive at the river you can cross over by foot (the water isn't very deep) or you can contact the owners to come pick you up with their boat. Doña Amalia’s Pacific Coast cooking is a true highlight; each meal was a delicious surprise. We couldn't wait for our next mail to be served! The luxurious accommodation was tastefully decorated and the bedding was very comfortable.
In the surrounding jungle, there’s plenty to explore. Hiking trails lead to breathtaking waterfalls and you can float down the river in an inner tube for a refreshing ride. And for a truly immersive experience a guided night walk reveals the mysterious side of the jungle as animals come alive under the stars.
