Val di Funes
We had no luck in visiting Val di Funes: it was a really rainy and cloudy day. There was almost not a single time the mountains were visible, yet we managed to visit the Santa Maddalena Church. You cannot get to the Santa Maddalena church by car. From the town of Santa Maddalena you hike to the church in about 15 minutes. You can take a look inside for free. From the church, walk up the 'Magdalenaweg' for another 10 minutes in a northerly direction. Enter “Panorama Santa Magdalena” in your Google Maps and you will arrive at one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Val di Funes. This place is especially beautiful at sunset. For the people who can go on a sunny, non-cloudy day: we wanted to do the Adolf Munkel Trail. It's really worth the hike in Val di Funes and takes more or less 3 hours to hike around (without any stops).

Lago di Carezza
Lago di Carezza is well known for its intense blue, sometimes emerald green color with the peaks of the Dolomites in the background. At the lake itself you find the parking area. Parking is free for the first 15 minutes, and then 1 euro per hour. After the initial 15 minutes there will be a cost of 4 euro. The entrance fee to the lake is free. The lake can get very busy in high season, so the best time to go is as early as possible (as they say). But we arrived around 17h30 and it wasn't that crowdy. One tour around the lake is about 15 minutes.
