Grand Canyon: probably the most famous canyon of them all. Standing on the rim of this majestical wonder of nature, you feel like looking at a postcard.
If you want to experience the true greatness of this gigantic canyon, you can walk (partly) down. There are two major hikes going down from the South Rim. We took the beautiful South Kaibab Trail.
The trailhead is only accessible via bus. Make sure to arrive early at the Grand Canyon Village entrance to score a parking spot near the visitor center. From here you catch a bus towards the South Kaibab Trailhead.
Once arrived, you start hiking for one of the most panoramic hikes of your live. We went down until Cedar Ridge point. This will take you approximately 1h down and 1,5h back up.
The ultimate sport freaks among you can hike all the way down the South Kaibab trail until the Colorado River and come back up via the Bright Angel trail. But be aware that this is more than 20km hiking down and back up in brutal conditions.
