Masca valley and a hidden beach
Visit Teno Nature Park and drive to the historic village of Masca. Need some coolness? Drive a little further to a hidden beach in the north!

The mysterious Masca and Teno nature park
Masca Valley is undoubtedly one of the most special places in the Canary Islands. This enchanting location is situated in the northwest of the island, far away from the busy tourist areas in the south. Surrounded by the impressive Teno mountains and the sparkling ocean, Masca Valley offers a unique and unspoiled experience. The drive to Masca is an adventure in itself, with breathtaking views over the steep mountain roads. Be aware: if you are prone to motion sickness, the winding route can be a challenge. The highlight of your visit is the charming old town perched on top of the mountain. The village is beautifully located on the edge of a deep ravine, which can sometimes lead to a feeling of vertigo as you walk through the narrow streets. In the village itself, you will find several dining options, but it can be quite busy and touristy. For a quieter experience, you might want to drive a bit further to the restaurant Mirador Cruz de Hilda. Here you can enjoy a meal on a spacious terrace with spectacular views of the Teno nature park. The fresh mountain air is a breath of fresh air compared to the stifling heat in the village. There are beautiful hikes to be done in Teno nature park. I would like to refer you to the app All Trails. You will probably also read about a hike from the village of Masca that leads you to the beach. Unfortunately, the roads leading there are closed due to falling rocks, so keep this in mind when making your plans.

Lunch at Mirador Cruz de Hilda
Drive a little further back to a restaurant called Mirador Cruz de Hilda. Sit at a large table on a spacious terrace with a magnificent view of the Teno Nature Park! It is also a bit cooler there, a pleasant breeze, unlike the oppressive heat in the village.

Mirador Altos de Baracan
Make a short pit stop at Mirador Altos de Baracan! Here you can observe a magnificent view. From here you can also walk to Punta de Teno, a viewpoint with an old lighthouse (10 kilometers).
Drive 24 minutes to the hidden beach.
Drive 20 minutes to Garachico.

Delicious croquettes at Tasca El Muelle Viejo
This restaurant is a hidden gem! Although it doesn't immediately stand out to the general public, a walk through the charming streets leads you to this cozy terrace. It feels like you're dining right in the street, creating a unique atmosphere. But the outdoor experience isn't the only thing you'll appreciate here; the interior is also decorated with great care and style. The authentic cuisine and friendly staff make this intimate restaurant a must-visit on your to-do list. Be sure to try the mushroom and chicken croquettes, an absolute recommendation! Reserve a table to ensure a spot, the locals are fans too!
