Cave of the wind and looking for the best beaches
Visit the spectacular Cueva Del Viento, a cave created by a volcanic eruption many years ago. After the cooler North, looking for warmth again in the South? Ideal for exploring some beaches and ending with a drink and snack on the beach at sunset.

Descend into the natural phenomenon "Cueva del Viento"
Cueva del Viento, also known as the "Cave of the Wind," is a fascinating volcanic cave in Icod de los Vinos. This cave was formed 27,000 years ago from basaltic lava during the first eruption phase of the Pico Viejo volcano, located next to the famous El Teide volcano. The name "Cave of the Wind" refers to the powerful gusts of wind that rush through the tunnel. With an impressive length of 18 kilometers (mapped so far), this lava tunnel is the fifth longest in the world. Cueva del Viento is a vast labyrinth of underground corridors with many still unexplored branches. What makes Cueva del Viento particularly special is its unique geomorphology. The network of galleries is arranged on three different levels, a phenomenon that has not been found anywhere else in the world. The tour begins a little further on, where you will be taken to the starting point by minibus. During a 20-minute walk through the surrounding forest, the guide shares interesting information about the environment and the formation of the cave. Once you arrive at the entrance, you put on your helmet and descend. Would you like to visit the cave? Make sure to reserve a time slot a few weeks in advance, as demand is high and supply is limited. To preserve the cave as best as possible, only a few tours are organized in small groups. Visits are only possible under the guidance of a guide, so be on time to not miss this special adventure!
The restaurant is located next to the information center.

A Baraquito in café Cueva Del Viento
Next to the information center of the Cueva del Viento, you will find a small restaurant where you can enjoy authentic local dishes. This is the perfect place for a tasty lunch, and at the same time, you support the local community. During the tour, the guide will likely refer to the Baraquito, a special coffee that can only be found in Tenerife. This coffee is served in layers, with condensed milk and liqueur, and is a sweet treat that you definitely have to try. It is a unique taste experience that you can only experience on this island!
It is an hour's drive to this location.

Playa de Las Vistas
The vast and wide Playa de Las Vistas, also known as the "Beach of views", is located in the south of Tenerife, in Costa Adeje. This beach stands out for its many blue umbrellas and spectacular view. From the beach, you can look out at the impressive buildings and mountains in the distance. Although this beach is a bit busier, it is ideal for a day out with children. Unlike many other beaches on the island, Playa de Las Vistas is a sandy beach. The sea here is quite calm thanks to its sheltered location in a cove, and for extra safety, lifeguards are present. Along the coast, there is a walking path that allows you to walk from one beach to another while encountering many cozy dining and drinking spots along the way. Via the link below, you can follow the crowd at the beach live. Very handy!
The beach was a bit too crowded for us. We were looking for a quieter beach nearby. The next beach is a 25-minute drive away.

The quiet Bahia Beach
Enjoy a refreshing dip in the water at the quiet Bahia Beach. Be careful, this is a stony beach. Bringing water shoes is pleasant!
Just a 3-minute walk from Bahia beach, you can find this beach bar.

Strong cocktails at beachbar Chiringuito
An aperitif on the beach before going to eat? This beachbar is a must-visit! Think of: lots of gin and little tonic or in the breeze of a mojito with a generous splash of rum. Everything is served at a low price by two enthusiastic bartenders who ensure an unforgettable experience!
You can walk from the beach bar to the restaurant via the beach.

Dining at sunset in the Bahia Beach restaurant
Feel completely at home and relaxed in this cozy bohemian beach bar! Unwind with a cocktail in one of the comfortable loungers on the beach, enjoy delicious tapas and dishes, or admire the enchanting sunset from your table overlooking the beach. Next to the restaurant, you can enjoy swimming in the calm rocky beach. It is a quiet place where mainly locals come to swim, so you can enjoy a serene and authentic atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of tourist beaches.
