Le Grand Bornand - Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne
A quiet and not too difficult mountain ride with the beautiful Col de la Croix Fry at the beginning, then through the Massif des Bauges and ending through the valley to Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.

Le Grand Bornand - Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne
My ride today had to be completely redrawn through the Col de l'Iseran, which is not yet open, and after a promising start with the beautiful Col de la Croix Fry (1477m), I went to a lesser-known part of the French Alps, where there is also a lot less traffic. There I climbed the Col du Marais (833m) and Col de Tamié (907m), easy 'runners' as they call them. The last 50 km went through the valley and were quite disappointing. At a coffee stop, I had ordered a 'Bounty fait maison' thinking of fresh coconut and a hint of chocolate, it turned out to be a sugar and fat bomb that my stomach could barely appreciate. It is still angry with me. That combined with the heat (34°C was indicated by GPS at one point) and a second hole in my puncture-proof tubeless tire made it an afternoon to quickly forget.
