Le Creusot - La Tour-de-Peilz
A diverse and surprising ride across the French-Swiss border towards Lake Geneva and its beautiful vineyards.

Le Creusot - La Tour-de-Peilz
This morning I left the B&B âLa Ferme du Bonheurâ of Marie-Madeleine and Daniel and their colossal Saint Bernard dog. Marie-Madeleine loves cooking and fresh food. At breakfast, she served homemade butter, bread, yogurt, and jam. When I said that I had also made cherry jam, I saw jealousy. "We also planted a tree here. After a few years, we had... one cherry! 700 meters, thatâs too high." About her dog, she said this: "my husband talks little, but I talk a lot. Thatâs why I talk a lot to Axel. One-way traffic, but he listens." đâ𦺠After Pontarlier, it was climbing to the top of the first real pass on my journey: the Col de lâAiguillon (1293 m). The passage through the forest was mythical due to the thick mist that had descended over the mountainside. đśâđŤď¸ Dangerous on the descent too, luckily there was hardly any traffic. In the meantime, I had crossed the Swiss border and the destination Lausanne was not far. Not a moment too soon, my legs were begging for rest. But then suddenly Lake Geneva appeared, giving me a boost to continue. The realization that I had already made it here despite the injury made me forget the pain. I didnât know much about Lake Geneva and its surroundings. So I suddenly came across the most unexpected and biggest surprise so far: Route du Vignoble. The steep vineyards and wineries proudly overlook the lake and the imposing Alps behind them. A memorable journey.
