Just around the corner from our stay at Suites del Mundo, we’d been eyeing this charming little bakery for days. On our second-to-last morning, we finally gave in. Inside, you can immediately sense the craftsmanship: no frills, just pure Andalusian tradition. A friendly local doing his morning shopping tipped us off to his favorites (which we, of course, had to try), and we paired them with two perfectly made cappuccinos.
Next door, you’ll also find the Antonio García González Bread Museum, the first of its kind in Spain. It tells the story of how this bakery has risen (pun intended!) through generations. Founded in the early 1900s by Antonio García García, and later revitalized by his visionary son, this family business has been pioneering healthy, whole-grain, and even gluten-free breads since the 1970s. All from their unique location inside a restored hermitage.
If you’re in Alhaurín and feel like treating yourself to a “sweet sin” in the morning, this is the spot. Great coffee, irresistible pastries, and a slice of local history all in one visit.
