Start your day at Punta Mosquito

Punta Mosquito is a stunning white sandbar where you can see flamingos in their natural habitat. It’s best explored during low tide, which allows you to stroll along the sandbank and enjoy its serene atmosphere. This was our favorite spot on Holbox! To reach Punta Mosquito, it’s a 30-minute walk from the center of Holbox, and another 30 minutes if you want to explore the entire sandbank. There’s no entrance fee to visit, but keep in mind that there’s no shade, so be sure to pack a hat, water, sunglasses, and sunscreen. The walk up there is lovely, too!

Lunch at La conquista empanadas

For a delicious and affordable lunch, we recommend La Conquista Empanadas. They offer over 10 different empanada flavors, all made fresh to order. So good! We highly recommend the lobster, potato and chorizo, and chicken empanadas. At just around € 1 per empanada, it's a great deal! Just remember, it's cash only and open daily from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Stroll through the picturesque streets of Holbox

After lunch, take a leisurely stroll through the charming streets of Holbox. The island is filled with vibrant street murals, adorable souvenir shops, boutique stores, and cozy cafes and bars. We absolutely loved walking around, soaking in the relaxed atmosphere, and discovering cute spots along the way! You can probably find a bar that serves Happy Hour between 2 PM and 5 PM, so the rest of your afternoon will be filled with fun and drinks, we’re sure ;-)

Sunset at Playa Holbox

Holbox has some of the most magical sunsets we’ve seen in Mexico. The best place to catch the sunset is at the bridge on Playa Holbox. Grab some drinks from the supermarket, and head to the bridge about 30 minutes before sunset to snag a great spot. Then, just sit back, relax, and watch the sun dip behind the sea. Cheers to unforgettable moments!

Dinner at Tuch

After sunset, it's time for dinner at Tuch, a cute restaurant right in front of the bridge. They offer delicious tacos, along with other amazing dishes, and their cocktails are fantastic. It’s the perfect place to end your day! While the prices are a bit higher, the quality of the food and the atmosphere make it completely worth it. And, you have amazing beach views here, too!
