Start your day at Los Rapidos

What better way to start your day than with some fun at Los Rapidos? This lazy river full of natural currents will gently carry you through stunning turquoise waters. You’ll be surrounded by mangroves and stromatolites, such a unique experience! You can relax and float along or rent a kayak (200 MXN per hour for a single or 400 MXN for a double) if you’re up for an adventure. Either way, you’re guaranteed a great time! The entrance fee is 200 MXN (around € 9), and lockers are available for 50 MXN. We recommend arriving around opening time (10 AM) to avoid the crowds. Don’t forget your water shoes, and remember that sunscreen isn’t allowed!

Lunch at Mi Burrito

For lunch, we recommend Mi Burrito, a cute food truck serving delicious burritos and refreshing cocktails. We tried the grilled chicken burrito and the vegetarian one with carrot, broccoli, and zucchini. Both burritos were amazing! For cocktails we recommend trying the Mezcalita Mango. The burritos are generously portioned, with prices ranging from € 7 to € 10. Just note that they only accept cash.

Sailing tour of Bacalar Lagoon

In the afternoon, we recommend taking a sailing tour of Bacalar Lagoon. By doing this you will have the chance to explore all of the lagoon's highlights, including cenotes, islands, and of course the iconic Pirate Canal. For the best experience, consider booking a private tour so you can go at your own pace. Want to add an extra stop for a swim? It’s up to you! Stay until sunset and enjoy a drink in hand with some guacamole as you watch the sun dip below the horizon.

Dinner at Mango y Chile

End your day with a delicious dinner at Mango y Chile, a cozy vegetarian restaurant with stunning views of the lagoon. They serve up the best burgers, hotdogs, and tacos. Yes, all vegetarian! Even meat lovers will be impressed. Kelvin tried the hotdog and could barely tell the difference from the real deal. He even said he prefers the taste of this hotdog over a “real hotdog”! The tofu tacos were amazing as well, so if you’re not in the mood for burgers or hotdogs we highly recommend trying the tacos!
