Mexico
Tulum
Your first stop is Tulum. If you flew into Cancun, we recommend renting a car at the airport and heading straight to Tulum. Cancun is known for its party scene and all-inclusive resorts, but that’s not the authentic Mexico experience you're looking for! Tulum offers a much more relaxed and genuine vibe.

Start your day at the Ahau Tulum Sculpture Park
Ahau Tulum Sculpture Park is a must-visit destination along Tulum Beach. This creative space showcases stunning artworks, with its centerpiece being the really famous Ven a la Luz. It’s a magnificent 10-meter-tall wooden sculpture by South African artist Daniel Popper. This masterpiece has become one of Tulum’s most iconic and Instagram-famous landmarks, and we love it! For just 100 MXN (around € 5), you can explore Ahau Tulum Sculpture Park.

Lunch at Burrito Amor
Head to Burrito Amor for the best burritos in Mexico. With a menu full of delicious options, including fish, meat, veggie, and vegan burritos, there's something for everyone. We recommend ordering the rib-eye burrito, packed with marinated rib-eye, beans, onion, pico de gallo, and avocado. So good! If you're vegetarian, the burrito with bell peppers, onion, beans, cheese, and avocado is equally tasty. What really takes the meal to the next level are the sauces: the chipotle sauce, avocado sauce, and habanero sauce. The perfect finishing touch!

Relax at Playa Paraíso
If you’re looking for the most beautiful beach in Tulum, we highly recommend Playa Paraíso. With its turquoise waters, soft white sand, and swaying palm trees, this tropical paradise lives up to its name. Located within Tulum National Park, entry costs just 60 MXN per person (around € 3). You can find tons of beach clubs and resorts along the coast if you’re looking for some drinks, snacks, or music.

Dinner at Palma Central
End your day at Palma Central, a lively outdoor food market with over 10 food stalls offering a variety of delicious options. You can enjoy Mexican classics like tacos or try something different, like empanadas or burgers. The cozy atmosphere is made even better with entertainment on certain nights, such as a DJ or salsa classes. Palma Central is open from 9 AM to 1 PM and 5 PM to 11 PM, but closed on Wednesdays.

Spend the night at Wakax Hacienda
Wakax Hacienda is a stunning 5-star hotel, located just a 10-minute drive from Tulum's center. With an on-site restaurant, a private cenote, three pools, and multiple lakes, you’ll never run out of things to do. If that’s not enough, there’s also a gym, yoga classes, and exciting activities like bicycle tours and underground river experiences. We stayed in the junior suite with a terrace, and it was an unforgettable, luxurious experience. The room’s minimalistic design, featuring soft beige and white tones with wooden accents, was simply elegant. We also enjoyed a spacious bathroom and a beautiful terrace, just a few steps away from one of the pools. Couldn’t have asked for a better room! Prices start at € 200 a night.
