Tukad Cepung Waterfall is one of Bali's hidden gems that feels like something out of a dream. It offers an experience that’s more than just a scenic spot, it’s an adventure that takes you deep into nature. We were hooked the moment we arrived!
But we must say, getting to Tukad Cepung is an adventure in itself. The hike through the forest was straightforward, but afterwards we had to wade through a knee-high river and navigate over rocks. It's a bit challenging, but absolutely worth it! It takes about 15 minutes to reach the waterfall, crossing of the river and climbing over rocks included.
The setting of this beautiful waterfall is what sets it apart. You have this small but stunning cave, and in the back there's a curtain of water falling down into a clear pool. With the beams of sunlight shining through the trees and cave-walls, it definitely has something out of a fairytale. The water is very refreshing after the hike, though too shallow for a swim. Instead, why not lounge on the big rock and soak in the atmosphere instead?
That being said, Tukad Cepung offers much more than just one waterfall and one pool. If you walk back downstream, you will come across two more, smaller waterfalls and a refreshing, man-made pool. So even if you can't really swim at the main attraction, there's always the possibility to cool off at the other pool! Or just stand underneath one of the falls and you'll be cool in no time ;-)
