Hike to Radsattel and Wiesbadener Hütte in Montafon
Activity
€ 1 - 50
Take the bus to the Silvretta Stausee or park your car after driving the Silvretta Panoramaweg (€18 entrance for 1 car). Follow the signs to Radsattel - it takes about 3 hours to reach it - by walking past the blue water reservoir. From there, you will walk in a peaceful and wide valley, seeing the glaciers in front of you and a nice little river at your left. Follow this easy path until you needto turn right. Here the ascent begins to the Radsattel. The Radsattel (2652 m) is the mountain saddle between Bieltalkopf (2797 m, Biel Valley Head) and Hohes Rad (2934 m). The views are sweeping: the Silvretta peaks and the lush valleys, the rocky formations and the blue glacier waters. From Radsattel, it’s a mere 50-minute hike to Wiesbadener Hütte.
Descend in the direction of the small pond straight ahead. Before reaching the pond, the trail splits. We went to the right, but you can also take the left path to the hut.
After a refreshing drink, you can take the easy, broad path back to the Silvretta reservoir, or choose to take the difficult path that follows the mountains crests.
