Slovenia
Op de weg en Logar-vallei
Dit was een dag waarop we voornamelijk op de weg waren, hoewel, op de weg zijn in landen als deze, nog steeds zorgt voor geweldige uitzichten.

The drive with stops along the way
Slovenia is an amazingly beautiful country. Whenever you are just driving around and you can take the scenic route, do it. What we do to make sure we have the most beautiful roads is this: we google maps our next location and we AVOID highways. This is no guarantee for beautiful roads, but it's something that can help. NOTE we don't do this the entire way to a country, only when we are in the area where we want to explore. In the next photos you'll see exactly why we do this. When you see a little café on the side of the road in what seems to be the middle of nowhere, make a stop! This usually means there is a view.

Logar Valley Hiking
Logar Valley is a national park where you can: hike, bike, drive, stay, ... There are many hotels here, each with their own view. You have multiple places where you can park and start a hike or a bike ride,.. There are so many options. There are also so many hikes to do here to see all the precious waterfalls this park is known for. BEWARE: This is a place with the hiking signs that have a duration on them. This duration is ALWAYS TO THE VIEWPOINT, and never a return. So count double! They can be as short as 30 minutes one way, to even 2 day hikes. We recommend having proper hiking shoes as the ground isn't always that stable, and with the many waterfalls, I also recommend going water resistant. There are 'cabin toilets', places to picknick or cook (if you have your own stove), you can find maps all over the place and near the biggest waterfall (in my opinion the least impressive one), you can also buy snacks and drinks.

On the road to the next nature reserve
As we left this place and went on our way to the next destination: Soteska Vintgar Nature reserve, we were greeted by the border of Austria and the high mountains. I'm sure, if you don't like driving over the mountains (or you don't trust your car to succeed), you can turn 'highways' back on in Google Maps and I'm sure you'll have another route.
