Last day in Lanzarote

Timanfaya National Park cannot be missed during this itinerary in Lanzarote, so this is were we went on our last day. And we went to another place that I really loved!

Timanfaya National Park

Timanfaya National Park is one of the most visited places in Lanzarote, so I recommend to go early in the morning, especially during high season. Otherwise, it is possible that you end up in a traffic jam. Once inside the park, touring buses are ready to take you around the National Park. The touring buses drive you through the park in about half an hour, telling you a lot about the origins of Lanzarote and the many volcanic eruptions that took place there. After the tour, another spectacle takes place showing you how hot the inside of the earth is at this point. In addition, it is possible to stop in the accompanying restaurant where they use the natural heat of the earth to prepare your dishes. You need an entry ticket to enter the park. We used our combination ticket by which we also went to the experiences of the day before: Jameos del Agua, Cueva de Los Verdes, Mirador del Río and Jardín de Cactus. The ticket costs 35€ per person. With this ticket it is also possible to visit Castillo de San José, but we skipped this place on our journey.

Museo Lagomar

The last experience of our holiday was Museo Lagomar. It’s a house built in volcanic rock and designed by Lanzarote’s well-known architect César Manrique. The museum is less touristy than Jameos del Agua but in my opinion just as beautiful. Another fun fact about this house is that Omar Sharif, a famous actor, has lived here. We paid 8€ per person to visit the museum.
