Sapa: Fog, rice fields, and moments that feel unreal

Sapa felt like stepping into a postcard. Waking up surrounded by mist-covered mountains and endless green rice terraces was honestly kind of surreal. We stayed in a homestay tucked between the hills. Hiking through the valleys was definitely a highlight. It wasn’t always easy—the trails got muddy, the sun would disappear in seconds—but it was always worth it. We passed through tiny villages where kids waved at us and water buffalo blocked the paths. It felt raw, real, and so far from anything familiar.
