The Fiery Heart of the Island
Visit the Timanfaya National Park today, famous for its natural area and volcanic landscape. In the afternoon, explore the northern coast of the island with its vast golden beaches and cliffs.

Timanfaya National Park
The park has existed since 1974 and is home to impressive volcanoes, lava fields, and craters formed by eruptions in the 18th and 19th centuries. Make sure to arrive early enough to avoid queues. The park is somewhat touristy but definitely worth seeing. A guided tour takes a tourist bus through the landscapes and craters. One of the highlights is Fire Mountain where you can see how the earth still emits heat.

Playa Famara
This beach is located at the Risco de Famara cliffs. It is a paradise for surfers due to the constant wind and powerful waves. It is quieter there, and there is a very relaxed atmosphere in the village where you can find some cafés and restaurants.
