If you're a wine lover and you find yourself on the Aeolian Islands, then consider a stay in Salina (one of the 7 islands) so you can book a wine tasting at Capofaro. In the first place, this is a high-end hotel. But next to that, the Sicilian Tasca Winery runs a vineyard on its premises. The volcanic grounds in combination with a fresh sea breeze and soft temperatures, makes this a perfect terroir to produce wines. As a visitor (so non-hotel guests), you can book a private wine tasting here. Included: 5 wines, a very extensive explanation, beautiful setting and some local bites. Really liked this experience! We went for the "Sicilian Autochtones" tasting so we could taste the difference between all of the Tasca-wines on the island. One of them was produced in Capofaro. Cheers!
