With unparalleled views of the New York skyline and unlimited once in a lifetime photo opportunities, SUMMIT One Vanderbilt quickly rose to fame as the must-see observation deck in the Big Apple. But unlike many other hyped up places, this one's definitely more than worth it.
We bought our tickets about a week in advance to make sure we got a sunset slot (1,5 hours before sunset is ideal), which does cost 10 dollars more than general tickets but makes your experience truly unforgettable. Other than that, there are only 2 things you really need to (mentally) prepare for: it's going to be busy, and it's going to be hot.
After a fast but smooth elevator ride, you'll first visit the room with endless glass and mirrors: Transcendence 1. While the design of this room is impressive on its own, the views are even more incredible. Afterwards, Affinity with the famous silver balloons awaits you. Finally, try to make you way up to Transcendence II right in time for sunset. It'll be less crowded here, but you'll enjoy the best view of the light and color spectacle, both inside and outside SUMMIT.
