From mid-September to mid-October, you can watch burling, roaring deers in a forest in Nederweert. Slashing antlers and dominant cries form the impressive soundtrack to one of the most beautiful spectacles of our nature: burling deers.
The best time to watch the deer is early in the morning or at dusk. Bring binoculars and mosquito repellent.
Drive to the Weerterbos and park your car at restaurant Daatjeshoeve. From this spot it is not a far walk to a viewing tower. If you're lucky, the deer are bellowing in the open area near the pond and you can see them very clearly. Otherwise, you can hear them in the woods, and with a bit of patience, you will see them coming out into the open.
