Exploring Mina district, Flag Plaza and the Pearl Fountain

We embarked on a captivating journey through Doha’s Mina district, where the past and present intertwine seamlessly. We took a taxi from our hotel and asked to drop us at the Mina district. There are some boutiques and restaurants/cafes, but the main reason for us to go are the pittoresk houses and beautiful street art paintings. Going in the late afternoon makes the colourful site even more beautiful. We walked from there to the iconic Flag Plaza, passing by the cool container area. There is a sidewalk, infrastructure is good. Next, we venture to the iconic Flag Plaza, where the towering flagpole proudly showcases the Qatari flag, standing as a symbol of the nation’s unity and pride. We took a moment to admire the panoramic views of the city skyline and the sparkling waters of the Arabian Gulf. We continued our exploration by foot, up to the enchanting Pearl Fountain, a mesmerizing ode to Qatar’s pearl diving legacy. From there we took another glimpse of the beautiful skyline at Dhow Harbour. What we didn’t add to our journey, but which is also a great activity, is crossing the sea in an ancient boat to arrive at Corniche Promenade.
