“Poc a poc”: just relax & enjoy the island vibe

“Poc a poc” is what the Menorcan locals say about the vibe on this beautiful island. Just be and relax. That’s exactly what this day is about!

Wake up slowly

Wake up and enjoy the morning in the sunshine (if the weather allows). We did just that at the beautiful agriturismo Llucasaldent, after enjoying their delicious breakfast. So lovely to hear the infinity pool water dripping and the many bird sounds around you.

Lunch in a winery

Head to Bodegas Binifadet for lunch. Binifadet is more than just a winery, this place is a lifelong family project. Year by year, they create experiences around the art and culture of cultivating wine and share them with their visitors. The passion you feel here is great.

Best beach on the island: Macarelleta 🌞

Now drive to Cala Macarella (don’t put Macarelleta in your GPS, it will send you the wrong way!) and park at the main parking lot. After a 15 min walk, you’ll reach the main beach. Stunning as hell, however walk a few minutes further to its ‘little sister beach’ Cala Macarelleta. The best one on the island if you ask me!! Made me think of the water in Formentera. Not too much people around, so perfect to spend your afternoon.

Sundown at Cala d’en Turqueta

Quite close to Macarelleta, you’ll find Cala d’en Turqueta. A beautiful one as well! I was so amazed by how all the roads and beaches are taken care of. Not a sign of dirt or any ‘trash’ around - it’s literally like walking in a park. You’ll walk again about 15 minutes to the beach. This one is less of the wow-views, but still very blue and a perfect one to catch the last sunshine of the day. It’s so quiet and peaceful over there. Definitely one of the nicest moments of my trip 🥰💙

Sunset at Pont d’en Gil

Last sunset of the trip. On the rocks this time, while enjoying some take-away supermarket food. At Pont d’en Gil, you have a view on an impressive cliff that the sun will set right behind of. Perfect ending of this amazing trip! For me, Menorca is definitely the most beautiful Balearic island nature-wise. Ibiza or Mallorca can’t beat this! However, the other two might have more cosy restaurant options. So if you’re looking to slow down for some days and take in the nature’s beauty (there’s also many hike options), Menorca is a great option. Will be back for sure! 📷 Photo by Nico Trinkhaus
