Rwanda
Safaris and sunrise on the lake
We kicked off the day with a sunrise boat cruise on Lake Ihema, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and birds like the African fish eagle. After a quick breakfast, we headed out on game drives across Akagera. Elephants, lions, and giraffes filled our morning, while the afternoon light made for perfect photos. We packed our lunch to maximize our time in the park. The day ended with some downtime by the pool and dinner at the lodge, surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Sunrise boat cruise on Lake Ihema
For a different perspective, combine your game drive in Akagere National Park with a boat safari on Lake Ihema. We set sail at 7h30 in the morning, right around sunrise. Glide across the water as hippos pop up beside your boat and crocodiles sunbathe on the shore. Bird lovers will be in paradise, with African fish eagles, kingfishers, and the rare shoebill stork making frequent appearances. - We made this trip in collaboration with Brussels Airlines, which offers direct flights from Brussels to Kigali, Rwanda.

Game drive in Akagera National Park
Are you a seasoned safari enthusiast or visiting Rwanda for the first time? Either way, Akagera National Park is an absolute must. Located in the eastern part of Rwanda, this stunning park has a spectacular mix of savannah, lakes, and wetlands, creating a diverse ecosystem that’s home to the Big Five and an array of other wildlife species. Hop into a safari vehicle and set off on an unforgettable game drive. We spotted elephants and giraffes, but also lions napping after a fresh kill! You can also keep an eye out for leopards. Herds of buffalos and antelopes complete the picture 😉 Akagera is a true conservation success story, with dedicated efforts to protect and restore its incredible biodiversity. Whether it’s your first safari or your tenth, this park will leave you in awe. - We made this trip in collaboration with Brussels Airlines, which offers direct flights from Brussels to Kigali, Rwanda.
