Cape Town isn’t just a beautiful city—it’s a runner’s paradise. With its stunning coastal views, mountain trails, and vibrant running community, there’s no shortage of opportunities to lace up your shoes and hit the road (or trails).
During my short 4-day stay, I joined three different running crews and even got involved with a hiking community. The sense of community here is incredible, and if you’re looking to run with others, you’ll find a warm, welcoming atmosphere in every group.
Run Crews & Safety
Running clubs are everywhere in Cape Town, and beyond just the fitness aspect, they add an extra layer of safety. Running in a big group is always a good idea, as robberies can happen, especially if you're running alone in certain areas. Luckily, the run crew culture is strong, and if you want, you can join a different crew twice a day!
One of my favorite experiences was trail running at golden hour with Run TNT —a breathtaking way to explore the natural beauty of Cape Town while meeting like-minded runners.
Find Your Crew

Whether you prefer road running, track sessions, or scenic trails, there’s a group for you. Find the group on Instagram and join the what's app group to get the info on their next run.
