Mountains and waterfalls in Hemsedal
Explore the Rjukandefossen, the small streams and rivers around Hemsedal and end your day with the most amazing views from Vavatn.

Beautiful Rjukandefossen
About 7 km north of Hemsedal lies the Rjukandefoss. It's easy to park your car, just walk 100 meters and you'll see the green and blue hues of the fresh water greeting you. The waterfall is located in a small gorge and surrounded by trees and mountains. It's a quick stop, but you can extend it if you want to take a dip in the cool water.

Sunbathing and exploring the waters of Hemsedal
If the weather is good, you can find yourself a nice rock near the Hemsila river to catch some sun rays. The river in Grondalen is also worthwhile visiting.

Sunset at Vavatn
If you are willing to drive 20 minutes for an amazing sunset spot, then Vavatn is your destination. Higher up in the mountains - and the starting point of many hikes - lies this grand lake. The greens and blues of the day turn into pastel shades of purple and yellow. The lake is still and the sheep come out to play. Enjoy the sunset from one of the small parking lots next to the road or make a small hike towards Harahodn that will give you even better views of the valley.
