Not to miss : Warsaw's Museum of the History of Polish Jews
Activity
€ 1 - 50
Unmistakably a must see in Warsaw, the museum reflects on the last 1.000 years of history of the Polish Jews community. The building is absolutely breathtaking in its architecture. Located on the ancient WWII ghetto ruins, it stands as a symbol for the fight that was lead by the rebels against the barbary of WWII.
Step inside, and you will immediately be struck upon by the vast hall. The curved walls are a symbolic message of Mozes that split the sea some 2.000 years ago. The museum retraces the history of the Jewish community that traveled from the Iberian peninsula all the way to East-Europe. The collection is very very vast, so make sure to save half a day to enjoy most of it. The attention to detail, as well as the recreation of ancient decors is immersive and forms a loop walkway through the museum.
After finishing the long tour, you can go on and go to the ancient marks of the ghetto, not far away from the museum. We stopped at a nearby cafe Tekla (coffee & vinyls) that forms the perfect transition, as well as offering some heat to the long journey.
