The road from Luang Prabang to Kuang Si Falls winds through picturesque scenery of lush green hills and traditional Laotian villages, offering glimpses of local life.
You can park in the large parking area from where an electric cart takes you to the entrance. Upon entry, you'll pass by a Bear Rescue Center, an Australian initiative to protect Moon Bears that were victims of illegal trade and abuse.
Next, a short walk leads you to the waterfalls. It's a mesmerizing sight of turquoise pools and white limestone terraces. You can swim in the crystal-clear water, although it's quite cold. There are two spots ideal for swimming: either the pool right at the beginning or one slightly higher up.
On the way back from Kuang Si Falls, you can stop for a drink or a bite at one of the rice fields.
