Vincent Van Gogh's life in Nuenen
Back in time in Nuenen, to the innovation and creativity of Van Gogh during his time.

Kick start your day
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel and a bike ride through the quiet city. I can assure you, even on the second day you will keep discovering street art on every corner that you haven't seen yet!

Coffee at a Watermill
We leave Eindhoven just before noon and head for Nuenen. On your way you can make a stop at the Watermill of Opwetten. Here you'll find a terrace just next to the water of the Kleine Dommel, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and a piece of cake in a picturesque setting!

Let’s go to Nuenen!
Nuenen is 15 min by car from Eindhoven, so close! Even by bike it is still easy to do (tip: at night the bike path is illuminated by thousands of pebbles!). Park your car for free at the van Gogh church and continue your discovery on foot. First off: visiting The Van Gogh Village Museum. This museum brings Vincent's life in Nuenen into focus. His period in Brabant was very important for his overall oeuvre. In the museum you also have Vincent's Light Lab, where you can explore the effects of light and color for yourself in surprising ways. Great fun for kids! After your visit you can enjoy the cozy coffee corner.

Lunch next to van Gogh
After visiting the museum, it's time to eat! Right by the little park, you can enjoy lunch on Comigo's terrace. Here you have a view of the Vincent van Gogh monument.

In Vincent van Gogh's footsteps
In Nuenen you will find 24 Van Gogh locations, each with a listening post telling the story. For example, you have the church he depicted in one of his paintings and the house of the person he was secretly in love with. Both are near the museum. Furthermore, the village also takes you through Van Gogh's quest that led to his first precious work, "The Potato Eaters". In Nuenen's park you will find these 'potato eaters' in 3D. We took a walk through the park. The perfect end to our weekend getaway!
