Do you like adventure?
If your answer is yes, put this hike on your bucket list!
First of all, choose a company to guide you. There are lots of companies where you can book the Rinajni trek. We booked with 'Rinjani Funtastic,' and as the name says, it was fantastic! Then, of course, there's a possibility to do the trek yourself but remember you need to carry everything by yourself, the tent, the food, etc. For me, it was an easy decision.
After figuring that out, you must choose how many days & nights you want to spend your time here. We decided on the '3 days two nights trek', which I discourage. Instead, go for the fast '2 days one night' (what we did) or the '4 days three nights' and go slow and enjoy nature more.
That being said, it was an amazing experience. We booked a private hike because I read a lot of horrible stories about big groups going up with only one guide. Everybody has a different pace. Therefore, if you have only one guide, you must go faster or slower than your speed. You want to stick with your guide because he knows the best path, he knows where you are and how much further to go, and last but not least, he has the cookie & water supply. The other disadvantage of going with a big group is the food, you'll have to wait longer, and the portions will be smaller. Of course, the significant advantage is the price. It's much cheaper! But I recommend going private or in a small group, around 6 - 8 people. Alright, have fun!
