Roosevelt Island - a small island in the middle of the East River that belongs to Manhattan - isn't massively visited by real New Yorkers, and the millions of annual tourists too often ignore the mini-island. Of course, during a trip to New York there are always some difficult decisions to be made. After all, there is usually little time, and yet so much to see and do. Nevertheless, I would recommend everyone to set aside an hour or two to explore Roosevelt Island, especially in good weather.
