Galle is a beautiful coastal town in Sri Lanka. Due to its history, you can really feel a mix of European and Asian cultures here.
The highlight of this town is the fort, it’s recognized as a UNESCO Heritage Site. There is no entry fee and you can visit 24h/day. The architecture and location are amazingly beautiful!
Another great thing to do in Galle is to walk around the ancient streets. They have a lot of handicraft shops where you can buy souvenirs and mementos from your trip.
Among the streets you will see a lot of old-fashioned Dutch buildings which are very beautiful and cosy. We loved strolling around and enjoy the charming vibe of this little town.
Also a must-see is the Galle Fort Lighthouse. This is the icon of the town, surrounded by palm trees and the deep blue ocean. It's the perfect spot to see the sunset and take some beautiful pictures.
Galle is a small town, so it’s perfect to walk around. This is also the best way to see all the attractions and enjoy the atmosphere.
