Perito Moreno Glacier, located in Los Glaciares National Park in Patagonia, is one of the most impressive glaciers in the world. The glacier, with its deep blue ice and colossal size, is unlike anything we've ever seen. We started our adventure by walking along the stunning network of wooden walkways that give you up-close views of the glacier. The first thing we noticed was the sheer scale of the ice sheets! We were humbled immediately, that’s for sure. This feeling stayed with us, especially when we heard the sound of ice cracking. Almost eerie, because it felt like the glacier was alive! We really recommend checking out all the viewpoints (or ‘miradors’), because every angle makes the whole thing just that little bit different.
For those looking for something more adventurous, you can also hike on the glacier itself. We didn’t take this option because of the price, but we watched people don crampons and trek across the ice, which looked really cool!
If you're not up for hiking, a boat tour is another fantastic way to experience the glacier. Getting so close to the ice, watching giant blocks of ice calve off, and hearing that deafening crack… Well, it's an experience that stays with you long after you leave, that’s for sure.
