Exploring the Daymaniat Islands was one of my favourite experiences in Oman. It’s an archipelago of nine small, uninhabited islands located in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Muscat. A tropical paradise only a 45-minute boat ride away from the hustle and bustle of the city! 🚤
The easiest and best way to get to the islands is by booking a trip with a tour company. We booked a morning tour with Daymaniat Shells and couldn’t be more satisfied!
You’ll visit two snorkel stops at picturesque bays with many sea turtles (the most I’ve ever seen in one place), colourful fish and an occasional glimpse of reef sharks. 🐢🐠🐚 In between snorkelling, the boat navigates to a pristine white sandy beach with rocky cliffs that offer a panoramic view of the surrounding islands.
A thing to keep in mind when booking this trip. Since it’s a protected nature reserve going onto the islands between May and October is forbidden as it’s turtle nesting season. During these months you will only be able to view the islands from the boat.
