During my trip to Switzerland, I took the train to visit the largest waterfalls in Europe. They are located in German-speaking Switzerland and are about 1 hour by train from Zurich.
You can visit them in several ways:
You can explore the area by boat thanks to the boat tours offered in front of the falls. You can book in advance or on the day. This gives you a close-up view of the waterfalls. You can even take the boat tour that takes you to the rock in the middle of the falls to climb. Prices vary between 5 and 25 CHF depending on the theme of the boat! Either opt for hiking trails offering spectacular views by passing along the falls and going to the bridge that passes over it.
The last option (which I recommend) is to go to the right bank of the falls and pay 5 CHF to access platforms that are quite close to the falls and allow you a most impressive view!
You have two stations available around the falls: the one that overlooks the falls and the one that is right next to the entrance to the platforms.
The Rhine Falls are a must-see destination with various options for visiting them.
